Hergé Foundation
On 31st March 2022, the statutes of the public utility Hergé Foundation were registered. On 18th May 2022, we received the royal decree of recognition which approved the mission of the Foundation
The main purpose of the Foundation is to ensure the protection and promotion of Hergé's work on a national and an international basis. In particular, it is responsible for ensuring that Hergé’s wishes and those of the Right’s Holders will be respected in the future.
The Foundation will also aim to support and contribute to the financing of the structures which have been in place for several decades which protect and promote the work notably through the organisation of exhibitions in Belgium and in numerous countries around the world. Naturally, it will also continue to support the Hergé Museum which was established in Louvain-la-Neuve in 2009.
This new Foundation will complement the existing organisations, the Studios Hergé ASBL, and Moulinsart S.A. (soon to be known as Tintinimaginatio), and continue to strengthen in the future the work begun by Fanny and Nick Rodwell over thirty years ago.
